August 24 – December 14, 2019
Arrowmont School for Arts and Crafts, Gatlinburg, TN
Artists and makers are consistently seeking innovative approaches to traditional craft practices; creating work that is historically conscious, while resonating with newer audiences, younger makers and current issues. It is important now more than ever to examine our histories with a fresh lens in order to forge new paths and make room for new voices and perspectives, while recognizing the significance of those histories.
Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts is seeking artists who are bridging the gap between the traditional and contemporary. Bridging the Gap: Contemporary Craft Practices aims to recognize artists less than 35 years of age who are making significant strides in their craft in bold and diverse ways.
Jurors: Jovencio de la Paz, Jessica Todd, Ariel Zaccheo
